Yesterday morning I listened to a sermon about mustard seeds. You know — the tiny little seeds that eventually become the biggest trees with giant branches. It sounded poetic in that Sunday-morning way, but it didn’t fully click until later, when I was staring at a stack of pink engineering notebooks on my kitchen table.

Because honestly? Sometimes I feel ridiculous making them.

There’s a voice in my head that says:
“Real engineers don’t care about this stuff. STEM isn’t pink. It isn’t cute. It isn’t pretty.”
There’s an even louder industry voice that says:
“Be serious. Blend in. Don’t make a fuss.”

If you’ve spent any time in engineering, you know exactly what I mean. Everything is blue, black, gray, steel, khaki, or navy. Office supplies included.
